It's been a while since I bought new nail polish. I kind of put myself on a ban as my collection is rather large, but I just couldn't help myself.

NAILS | Nails Inc - Alexa Chung

Hey guys and dolls,

Nails Inc is one of those brands that everybody knows and loves, they have an array of colours and effects available. They also do products to treat the nails.

To mark their 15th birthday last year, Nails Inc announced a collaboration with Fashion icon Alexa Chung and a major re-brand, debuting a new bottle designed by Fabien Baron. Not only was Alexa signed as the new face of Nails Inc, they teamed up to create a collection inspired by fabrics.

I can't tell you how excited I was when I finally got my mitts on these beauties.

NAILS | Greenberry and Teal

I've recently gotten back into painting my nails again, I dunno why but I got through periods of not being bothered about doing them. Well I'm back in the mood again and I was just so happy with how my nails look I wanted to share it o the blog. I went for a green theme and thought because of the colours chosen it'd be fitting to photograph them in the garden.

NAILS | Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Colour

Anyone who is into nail products knows about Sally Hansen. I happened to come across the magnetic polishes nail range in none other than Poundland.  I've made mention of how Poundland has some hidden gems in their beauty section. There were 5 shades available, blue, silver, green, copper and purple.

NAILS: Avon Opal Top Coat

Hey guys and dolls,

Opalesce

I was super excited to try this top coat. In the pictures it looked so so so so pretty.

Unfortunately this product is not what I thought it would be. And here's where I have to be a negative nelly, but for brands to keep improving they need honest opinions from their consumers, right?

NAILS: Lost NOTD

Hey guys and dolls,

Whoa total throwback here lol. I was going through my drafts and came across this post. I realised I haven't posted an NOTD since the beginning of the month. But instead of this post going to waste, I though hey why not publish it. I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but I wanna start doing a lucky dip thing with my nail polishes. I have so many and I end up forgetting about some. So to encourage me to use more I'm gonna do that.

I wore my nails like this to the Paramore concert. You can see the post I did on the concert here.

NAILS: Instagram Nails

Hey guys and dolls,

I have a tendency to paint my nails on occasion. But I don't always post on my blog what I put on my instagram. So I thought I'd put up a collection of those unseen nail looks here.

Midweek Manicure: TASTE THE RAINBOW

Hey guys and dolls,

 Something bright and fun

This nail look made it's way to my instagram but I wanted to post about it on here too.

My sister kept saying to me that this manicure made my nails look like skittles. And I was inclined to agree.

Recent Avon Purchases

Hey guys and dolls,

Before you say it yes I know, I love Avon. But they are a really good brand and have prices you can't exactly scoff at. I've been curbing my spending lately and haven't been buying from them much.  But here are some things I've gotten in recent months.

Nails Inc Autumn/Winter collection

Hey dolls,

This is the final post on my Nails Inc goodies. I already posted about my experience at the blogger event, the monogram manicure and the gel effect collection. You can see the posts on those here, here and here. But lets talk about this gorgeous collection.

Nails Inc Gel Effect

Hey dolls,

Nails Inc have released 4 limited edition gel effect nail polishes, 2 of their bestsellers and 2 limited edition shades. These beauties were part of my swag bag from the Nails Inc blogger event I attended. You can see the post on that here.

I love the shape of the bottle, it so chic. But for some people wouldn't be the ideal shape to hold when applying the polish. Luckily the rectangular lid can come off for an easier application. Something I noticed with the lids is that they look exactly like the nail polish. So I checked the website and it said that lids were colour matched and given a high gloss finish that reflects the gel effect finish of the polish.

Swatches

BOND STREET
Rich violet (limited edition)
This is the colour I had when I had my monogram manicure. You can see that post here.

PORCHESTER SQUARE
Muted mushroom
This is one of Nails Inc's best sellers. I can see why, its one of those nude shades that suits EVERY skin tone.

KENSINGTON HIGH STREET
Deep mulberry (limited edition)
This is one of those made for autumn shades.

ST JAMES
Pillar box red. Another one of Nails Inc's best sellers, this a gorgeous bright red.

Formulated with revolutionary plasticiser technology, the gel effect polishes provide a high shin and super glossy finish. The polish has the same plumping effect that you'd get from having a proper gel manicure. These are just as good as a real gel manicure without the hassle of removing and the cost.

The polishes leave you with a flawless finish, they don't streak and apply so evenly. The wide brush makes application super speedy, they also dry quite quick as well. I'm very impressed with these polishes.

The gel effect polishes retail at £14 each.

Nails Inc Monogram Manicure

Hey dolls,

If you saw my last blog post on the nails inc event (if not, you can see that here) I said I would be sharing with you all the amazing items I got to view at the event.

"Make a statememt, send a message or write your name. Nails Inc, the pioneers of special effects for nails, now launch the ultimate in nail personalisation - the Monogram Manicure."

The main attraction of the event...the MONOGRAM MANICURE! Personalised nails is such a fun and super cute idea. I feel this is gonna become a really popular trend. I love that they have the option of black and white letters so that they can be used on any shade.

Monogram Manicure collection - £20

In the monogram kit you get:
  • 4 sheets of monogram nail letters (2 white, 2 black)
  • Southbank - cool grey nail polish
  • Mayfair Place - deep plum nail polish
  • Kensington caviar 45 second to coat
  • Cuticle wood stick
Featured Nail Polishes: 'Southbank' and 'Mayfair Place'

How to use your monogram kit:
  • Apply a base coat
  • Apply 2 coats of your chosen polish - let dry for at least 10-15 minutes before applying your letters or symbols
  • Using your orange stick place your chosen letter or symbol onto the nail
  • Use your fingers to smooth the edges of the letter or symbol to make sure its firmly in place
  • Apply a top coat

My Monogram Manicure

At the event we got to choose from the new gel effects range as our base for the manicure. I chose Bond Street, which was a happy accident (as the event was held at the Bond Street store). Bond Street is this gorgeous creamy violet shade. (Check back on my blog to see my post on the Gel effect polishes).

 SONYA!

#MKUP

I absolutely loved this manicure and am definitely going to be recreating this again.

The monogram manicure is now available nationwide so pop into any Nails Inc nail bar and get your very own personalised manicure at an added £6 to the cost of any manicure.

Barry M nail paint - Gelly Hi Shine - KEY LIME

Hey dolls,

Back again with another post on the Gelly nail paints from Barry M.

A bright lime/mustard green shade.

Out of all the gelly paints I have I'd have to say that Key Lime and Lychee are the more subdued colours I have in my collection, still bright but not as in your face as the others.

The more I use these polishes the more the whole opaque in "one coat"  thing is becoming a myth lol. I'm finding I need 2 coats for it to be completely opaque and not streaky. But don't get it twisted I still love these polishes.

Random side note: Is it me or does it look like the green monster from Ghostbusters sneezed on my thumb haha. You know the one I mean...

SLIMER
Well this post has taken a weird turn haha. And on that note I'm gonna leave it here.

I hope you are all enjoying the gorgeous weather we're having in England at the moment.

NOTD - Cobalt Disco

Hey dolls,

Been changing up my nails a lot lately, since I have nails again, (this seems to be a continuous battle me trying to keep my nails long). I've fallen hard and fast for the Barry M gelly nail polishes. I recently purchased a few more for the collection, so keep any eye out for those in upcoming posts.

Cobalt blue nails with a glittery signature nail.

Barry M nail paints
Blue Glitter - £2.99
Blue Grape Gelly Hi Shine - £3.99

For the signature nail I used Blue grape as a base for Blue Glitter. It really made the colour pop.

The pics are not doing the blue glitter justice. When it hits the light it looks like crushed sapphires on my nails :)

Nails of the day: 10/11/11

Hello my loves,

OK so today I decided to paint my nails, I was a tad bit bored and thought why not I ain't got nothing else to do. Its been a while since I painted my nails, but since they're (lowly) starting to grow back I thought I would give them a little paint.

The nail polishes of choice are:
  • Cyan Blue nail paint by Barry M
  • Strawberry speed dry+ nail polish by Avon
S xxxxx
ps I am finally going to the Stratford Westfield tomorrow (I chose this Westfield 1. I've never been to the Stratford one and 2. its a lot closer to my house than the one in Shepherd's Bush). And as I have birthday money to spend I'm hoping I will pick up some stuff to blog about :)

Long time no post

Hello my love bugs,

Right its been ages since I have blogged. But I have 2 very good reasons as to why haha. Firstly those of you who follow me on twitter would know that I've was in Egypt, so a week or so before I busy getting things ready packing etc. And then obviously I went on holiday lol.

The second reason is while I was away I caught a really bad stomach bug that brought along some other health issues with it that I'm not gonna go into. I'm only really starting to feel better now and its been like 10 days since it started.

So I have a things to post Avon stuff, frontcover stuff and also pics from my hols.My nail haul will have to take a hiatus cos I did mention on twitter that while waiting for the Gatwick flyer to turn up I broke off all my nails (out of  boredom)

Egypt is amazing (stomach bug and all haha), I suggest if anyone wants to go on holiday Egypt is defo the place to go :)

Also NEVER EVER fly with Easy Jet, they are the WORST people I have ever flown with (I flew with them when I went to Budapest as well). They maybe cheap but they certainly aren't cheerful. They're staff are so condescending and un-helpful. And the organisation of their speedy boarding was an utter joke, that was £115 down the drain.

Anywho, yeah so I shall be putting up some posts very soon so keep a look out.

NOTD!

Here is another NOTD!!!! I know very boring and repetitive, but still got a tonne of coursework to do, so this is the quickest thing I can post.

The colour on my nails is OPI's Privacy Please.

I'm not sure how much I paid for this  because I got this nail polish in like 2008 (wow that's along time, and look how much is still there, too be fair I don't use this polish alot)

I like the look this light pink gives my nails, I dunno they just look more sophisticated hahaha :/

I'm done with college in like *checks calendar*  HOLY S***!!!!! 3 WEEKS!!!!!!

Yeah so I will be posting much much more in due course. Thanks again for bearing with me through this :)
