"We're men, we're men in tights...YES!"

Hey dolls,

So its been a while since I did a DVD purchases post. I haven't been buying many DVDS the last few months. I found this hole in the wall shop while in Romford and they had some old favourites of mine that you don't see everywhere, unless you're online. They were on a good deal 2 for £5.

 Magic in the Water
As a kid I managed to find these obscure movies and fall in love with them. Magic in the water is no exception. Its a random movie about a girl who discovers this magical water creature (hence the title lol). It also stars a young Joshua Jackson.
BASEketball
This movie comes from the creators of South Park and Team America. Slapstick comedy about a couple of friends who decide to create a new sport. It's a mix of Baseball and Basketball. I you've watched South Park you'll understand the kind of humour this movie contains.

So I married an axe murderer
Old school Mike Myers, in between his Wayne's World fame and many moons before his Austin Powers and Shrek fame. It's basically about a guy that falls in love with a woman who's previous husbands have all died suspiciously.

Robin Hood - men in tights
A spoof of the classic Robin Hood movie. Quite funny and some interesting musical numbers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! (I know I'm a little late)

Hey dolls,

How are you all? I'm very late getting my first post of 2013 up. That feels so strange to say, 2013. 2012 went so quick.I hope your new year has started off well. So far mine has been quite good to me. I also hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas.

So I've been slightly quiet on the blogging front for a while but I'm back now and I have a few posts coming up, so keep a look out.

I'm gonna start off with a DVD haul (you all know how I love my movies). These are DVDs I got over my birthday and Christmas.

Sabrina the teenage witch (complete collection)
This was a birthday present from my mum and dad (plus money)
This was one of my favourite shows when I was growing up. I always wanted magical powers lol.

The Only Way is Essex (complete series so far)
This was one of my birthday presents from my sister.

Now for those of you who don't live in England, this is one of our reality TV shows kinda like The Hills but not as dramatic. Its car crash TV but I LOVE IT.

Nanny McPhee and the big bang
I haven't actually watched this yet.
Night at the museum 1 and 2
Did any of you when you were kids ever wonder if things came to life after you went to sleep? Well I did  (I was a child its allowed haha). That's the main reason I like this film.

 Arthur
Whenever I have watched Russell Brand I have always been in stitches (except for get him to the Greek). From the trailer I thought this was gonna be no different, but OH MY GOSH! It had a few moments where I may have laughed out loud but it really wasn't good.
Hall Pass
I haven't watched this yet either.

 Cinderella
I don't really think this needs anything to be said about it. One of my favourite Disney film when I was growing up. Classic fairytale :)

 Think Like a Man
This film is frickin jokes but besides it being funny I loved the interlocking story lines and the male and female perspective. Black comedies never fail me.

 Made In Chelsea (Series 1-3)
This was a birthday present from my sister.
Another one of my favourite British reality shows. Again car crash TV but you just cant look away. Good entertainment.

 2 Broke Girls
I knew from the trailers that this show was gonna become one of my favourites. It is so funny and I love all the characters and it contains one of my favourite things...CUPCAKES!

 Four Christmases
This is not one of my favourite Christmas films, its has a couple moments where I may let out a chuckle but its not the first on my Christmas movie lists.
All I want for Christmas
Haven't watched this yet. I kinda bought it on a whim.

Titanic
Classic love story. Brilliant film, I still cry every time I watch it.

 Buffy the Vampire Slayer
BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!! Vampires, werewolves, the supernatural, witches, slayers, creatures, monsters, a bad ass lead female and her sidekicks.

 Fred Claus
I haven't finished watching it but what I have seen wasn't too bad, I like that that they are in the north pole.
Jingle All the Way
I haven't watched this film in so long. But when I was younger I watched it loads. Its kinda funny, but its more stupid but still entertaining (if that makes sense haha)
The Grinch
The first time I watched this movie was last year, Id never been interested before but I fell in love with it. Ive always been a big fan of Jim Carrey and this film hasn't changed that.

 LOL
Typical teen, coming of age film. I like Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore but I didn't like this film so much. It was pretty standard, nothing really stood out.

 Gossip Girl Season 4
If you've never watched Gossip Girl I suggest you go out and pick up the first 5 seasons (Season 6 is not available til next month). Its such a great show. Living vicariously through all the upper east side kids and seeing how the other half live.Very entertaining.

 Cool Runnings
This film gets a lot of stick but I really like it. The only thing I can complain about is as a jamaican the accents offend me oh so much.

Narnia the voyage of the dawn treader
I love the Narnia films. This was my least favourite but it was still OK viewing. The cousin who gets dragged along on their voyage is the MOST ANNOYING characters EVER!

The Amazing Spiderman
Spiderman was not worth the money I spent on it.This film just dragged for so long. It only got 40% interesting in the last half hour of the film. I should've waited for it to come on TV and not wasted my money. The original Toby Maguire one is better because it was action packed. I like the perspective of this film of Peter Parker in high school and his relationship with Gwen but it just dragged. It was a bit of a let down.

Now this was a just a little post to ease e into blogging again, I feel a bit like a novice again cos I haven't blogged for so long. So Like I said before I will have some beauty related hauls coming soon.

Question:
When I do DVD hauls would you like mini reviews with ratings or you happy with how I do it now?

Hope everyone is having a good week.

More additions to the collection aka I have a problem...

Hi dolls,

So I have a problem (as we all know). I LOVE movies and TV shows and I'm always adding to my collection. And the last time I had a count I had 333 or 335 (cant remember). That's ALOT, but if you were to see my bookcase it doesn't look like that many. So I have added to the collection recently.

A Cinderella Story - £5 (part of the HMV 2 for £10 deal)
Monte Carlo - £7.29

 The Proposal - £3
Vicky Cristina Barcelona - £3

Fast and Furious 5 - £5 (part of the HMV 2 for £10 deal)

So after I wrote this post I then went and bought 2 more DVDs from Tesco. I prefer getting my DVDs from supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda or Sainsbury's, (sometimes Morrison's) only because they tend to have better DVD deals or lower priced DVDs than online more regularly. But I do also buy my DVDs from HMV, play.com and sometimes amazon.

Going the distance - £3
I could never be your woman - £3

Out of all my DVD purchases The proposal is the only one I've seen (kind of- I missed the beginning).

Have any of you made any current DVD purchases or have any recommendations?

DVD haul :)

Hiiiiii,

So in the last week or so I've felt like purchasing some new additions to my collection.

On a random jaunt to Sainsbury's I went down the DVD aisle and picked up 2 movies I'd never seen before.
 What's your number? - £5
Starring Anna Faris and Chris Evans (such a hottie)
This was your typical rom com. It was ok but if Id seen it before buying it, it would not be in my collection.

 The Change Up - £5
When I saw this trailer I thought it looked funny and would be like your adult Freaky Friday. I watched and didn't really enjoy it like "What's your number" it was ok but again if I'd seen it before buying it wouldn't have mad the cut.

Amazon:
My Best Friend's Wedding - £5.57
Classic rom-com. That needs no explanation :)

 Godzilla - £4.87
CLASSIC monster movie. The main reason I bought this was because I was listening to the song by  Jamiroquai from the OST for this film and I was like I really wanna watch it now but only have it on VHS so I was like why not.

The Big Bang Theory - £22
I couldn't believe the price when I saw it. So I was like yup I'm getting this. When this show first came about I was a bit iffy about it but I'm glad I stuck with it cos it is frickin HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!

Breaking Dawn part 1 - £12.99
I LOVE the twilight movies and this has to be my favourite one out of all of them (this will probably change once I see the the final one. I love the fact that I got the limited edition version with the 3D outer sleeve :)

Austin Powers: International man of mystery - £3 - "Would you like some orange sherbet?"
Despicable Me - £6 - "Its so fluffy I'm gonna die", "Its so FLUFFFY!"

What I got for Christmas 2011

Hello my loves,

So here is the post of all my Christmas presents. So I'm not at an age now where I end up buying my own Christmas presents 1. because my parents don't celebrate Christmas, they made a fuss when we were younger but now that we're older its kinda just not a biggy 2. I don't like surprises so if I see something I like I don't ask for it I just get it myself.

The first lot of gifts I got myself was from Avon...

I got some Foot Works products in the scent Cinnamon Orange. The 3 items I got were:
  • Comfort Soak - 99p
  • Smoothing Scrub - 99p
  • Moisturising cream - 99p
I wanted to try some new products for your feet and these were at a very reasonable price, I thought what the heck.

Glycerine hand and nail Christmas cream - 99p
I have purchased this a few times, but I had to get this one because it had the Christmas packaging :)

Avon released these new lipsticks called Shine Attract, I've never seen anything like it before and I LOVE the packaging. Its basically a pigmented lipstick in the centre and and a hydrating gel surrounding the lipstick. They come in a nice range of colours. I used one of them in my New Year Eve FOTN.

Shine Attract lipstick - Cherry Pie P301 - £3.50

Shine Attract lipstick - Orchid P202 - £3.50

Swatches:
Top: Cherry Pie
Bottom: Orchid

Because I got these 2 lipsticks I go this Beauty Bonus box for free. The set is called Rock Star Chic.

 Nailwear Pro - Midnight Plum

True Colour Eyeshadow Duo in Retro Glamour
this comes with a very light purpley pink eyeshadow and a dark purple eyeshadow

 With Flash
 Without Flash

 Glimmerstick Eyeliner - Majestic Plum
 Swatches:
Top: Majestic Plum
Bottom: Retro Glamour eyeshadow duo

 Kavita bag - £8.40
With the strap out- this is such a cute little handbag. I love the kind of creased effect it has on it. And the pink leather (fake of course) :)

Little Red Dress EDP - £4.90
This perfume smells gorgeous. This is the of the Dress range perfumes.

Candyland lip balm - 99p each
  • Sugar Cookies - this proper smells like cookies, delicious.
  • Candy Apple
  • Lollipop
I loved flavoured lip balms, especially ones that smell like sweets haha. I didn't think they would be, but I find them moisturising.

 Pro 3-in-1 lip wand - Berry -£3

 Swatches:
Top: Lip liner
Middle: Lip gloss
Bottom: Lipstick
Although it looks really nice and I like the 3 in 1 idea, the colour doesn't really suit me :(

Color Trend Kiss 'n' go lipstick - Garnet Glow - £1.50

 Swatch of the lipstick

Amazon
I brought myself some cookbooks from

The Hummingbird Bakery Cupcake kit - £7.49

I love Hummingbird bakery cookbooks and me and my sister make a lot of them in our house but we would use her cookbook, but I wanted my own What I didn't realise is that it had the same recipes that her one had minus the cake recipes DOH! But I don't mind cos of the cupcake cases that came with it :)

I got this little set because it came with these cute little cupcake cases :)

 Bake me I'm yours collection - £7.50

I love this set I got, and I was very happy with the price I got it for especially as each of these books were usually £5+ :)
The books that came in the set were...
  • Bake me I'm yours...Chocolate
  • Bake me I'm yours...Cupcake
  • Bake me I'm yours...Cookie

HMV
I woke up boxing day morning and ran to the computer to get some movies mainly Disney because they had them going for £8 or less instead of the usual £16-£18, how could I pass it up?

 I got:
  • Cadet Kelly £3.19
  • Bridesmaids £9.97
  • Ratatouille - £6.47
  • The Princess and the frog - £6.99
  • Basil The great mouse detective - £4.99
  • Beauty and the beast - £7.49
Play.com
Then they day after boxing day I went and got 3 more DVDs, I had to take advantage of the sales :)

I got :
  • Kindergarten Cop (Favourite of mine growing up) - £2.99
  • Chalet Girl (really wanted to see this, plus I love Ed Westwick and it has one of my fave actresses in it, Sophia Bush) - £5.99
  • Something Borrowed (I saw this and Bridesmaids with my besties and loved it) - £5.49
So that is everything :) Hope you all got lovely Christmas presents. And had a fabulous Christmas and Happy New Year :)
