WOW! My blog turned 4 yesterday. It doesn't feel like it's been that long.

My blog was something that I started randomly. My friend Stevie (one half of the velvet epidemic) was actually the reason I started blogging. I'd wanted to start a blog for a while, but just never did it. Stevie had started up a blog of her own and gave me the confidence to go for it. So this blog started as a place for me to share my passion for make up. It has since become somewhere for me to share a whole lot more. It's a very big part of my life that I love very much.

FOTD - 1/3/12

Hey hey hey,

So yesterday I had an interview, my first one in years! So after being out of work for 6 months and job hunting almost everyday since then I was so happy that someone contacted me about an interview. This is how I wore my make up, pretty much my everyday make up as I didn't wanna go over the top.

Face: MAC Studio fix powder in NW45

Cheeks: Sleek blush by 3 palette - a mix of Pink Parfait and Pink Ice 

Eyebrows: Sleek eyebrow pencil - Brown

Eyes:

AVON SuperSHOCK big duo eye pencil - Frosted Ice - Inner corner highlight

MAC Sable - on the lid

MAC Brun - in the outer corner, lightly run through the crease and under the lower lash line

MAC Shroom e/s - highlight

AVON SuperSHOCK gel eyeliner pencil- black on the waterline

MAC Blacktrack fluidline - on the upper lash line

Sleek Mediterranean Collection/FOTD

So last Wednesday (8th June) Sleek came out with a fabulous collection called the Mediterranean collection. I manged to get mine on the Friday, I literally ran to Superdrug haha

It comes with:

• Monaco eyeshadow palette - £6.90
• Santorini blusher - £4.29
• Monte Carlo pout polish - £4.29

Top L-R: Bamboo, Aquamarine, Midnight garden, Sunset, Washed Ashore, Magenta Madness

Bottom L-R:  Summer Breeze, Sand Walker, Kiwi Zest, Lotus Flower, Humming Bird, Moors Treasure

This palette is AMAZING!! The colours are SO pigmented, as you can see from the picture below. I saw a post on this by Bubblegarm and I was SO SO excited to purchase this collection. My favourite's are...OK so I just tried to pick my favourite and I can't haha

 

 Monte Carlo Pout Polish it comes out very sheer, but it does give your lips a nice touch of colour. And it doesn't give you that gross sticky thing that some lip glosses do.

 

Santorini blush

Santorini blush is INSANE, when I saw it I could not believe the vibrancy of this colour. It does not fail once on the skin, it is very build-able, but if I went any brighter I would have looked like a clown or an 80s reject haha

I couldn't be more happy with this collection. I give it 5 out of 5. If you do not own this collection, go get it NOW!!!! You can get Sleek at Superdrugs or on the Sleek website. Seriously get it before its sold out :)

Here are two eye looks I tried out, while I was playing with the palette..

NOTE: Please ignore the terrible state my eyebrows are in, they need serious plucking.

 The colours used were: Kiwi Zest first part of the lid and Humming bird on the outer corner of the lid and bamboo as a highlight.

Sandwalker on the main part of the lid and Moors Treasure on the outer part of the lid and Bamboo as a highlight.

So after playing around I decided to do a full face of make up using the entire collection.

I would run to your nearest superdrug and get this collection the blush and pout polish were going fast. I luckily got the LAST Santorini on the shelf...yay me :-)

My FOTD was inspired by Hayley Williams. I tweeted about it earlier the fact that I was watching Paramore: Evolution Of on MTV Rocks and I dunno why but her make up in "That's What You Get" made me wanna re-create the look with a Sonya twist on it :)

Her make up consisted of a very light flesh toned eyeshadow and a very thick winged eyeliner. So I opted for a light eyeshadow and the thick winged eyeliner, and as I don't like make up looks without blush I added a light sweep of Sleeks Flushed blush with a hint of MAC Ambering Rose over the top.

My hair is also in pigtails, I think it looks really cute haha

A family Affair: OOTD, HOTD, FOTD, NOTD!

I had a few spare moments and thought as I promised it yesterday I would blog about what I was wearing. The pictures I took were a bit of a fail, just couldn't seem to take a decent picture. :( but anywho here it is :D

I gave myself a "signature" nail, I dunno why, i just felt like it haha, it was on both ring fingers. It doesnt look great in the pictures but I promise you in real life it lookes really nice :)

Okay so I was supposed to keep up to date with this blog at least three times a week, but then I got sick over the summer while I was on break from college so yeah I couldn't update this or even start it lol. But I am officially back on here. I'm getting better and I'm back at college for my 2nd year of doing make up which I'm really exited about. So I thought what should I start this blog with...hmmmm???? So I thought I would do a face of the day.
