Jaclyn Hill X Morphe Palette

Jaclyn Hill, Morphe, palette, eyeshadow, YouTube, makeup, collaboration
Jaclyn Hill X Morphe
Last week I had a belated birthday celebration with my girls, and one of their gifts to me was the Jaclyn Hill palette. I wish someone had filmed my reaction to me opening this, I was in absolute shock. My girlfriends had said that they had gone in a joint gift and I had no idea what to expect. All I can say is that I was not expecting this. I have wanted this palette for so long but I'm not the most comfortable purchasing things from overseas and when it was finally available in the UK (via Beauty Bay) I was broke (typical Sod's law).

This palette has been one of the most talked about collaborations in the beauty community, both good and bad. It had so much hype around it and very mixed reviews. But even with the bad reviews I still was eager to try it myself and I was finally able to. So if you wanna hear my thoughts on the Jaclyn Hill X Morphe palette keep on reading.

MAC X SELENA

MAC Cosmetics, Selena, MAC X SELENA, Selena Collection, Selena Quintanilla, Fotos Y Recuerdos, Selena, No Me Queda Mas, Is It The Beat, Amor Prohibido, Como La Flor, Dreaming Of You, lipstick, eyeshadow
 MAC SELENA COLLECTION
I have never purchased a MAC collection...not through lack of wanting but due to lack of funds. When I found out that fans had started a petition for MAC to create a Selena line I was HELLA EXCITED! And when the petition had proven fruitful I was like, regardless of my financial situation I was gonna save up and buy the collection. I sat in anticipation watching all the bloggers attend the Selena release in Corpus Christi, just waiting for the collection to make its way to England. You would not believe how fast I ran to my laptop and got my hands on some goodies.

If you know me, then you know how much I love Selena. I came across her because of the Selena movie (one of my faves btw), after seeing how she was portrayed and hearing her songs I was HOOKED! She seemed like such an amazing person with a kind soul. You could only imagine how sad I was at the end of the the film, to not only see her die but to know it was based on a REAL person. I think if she was still alive today that she would've been very successful.

Gothic Makeup (Rimmel Mini Haul)

Rimmel London, makeup, glam eyes quad, stay glossy lipgloss
I've shared with you guys previously the beauty bargains you can get in Poundland. I know not the most glamorous or high-end of places, but they do sell known beauty/makeup brands for £1. And those are the kinds of bargains I am here for. This time round I got some makeup bits form Rimmel and some false eyelashes (which were the kind of quality you'd expect for £1).

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette + Primer Potion

Urban Decay, Naked 3 palette, primer potion,

Urban Decay cherry popped.

I finally joined the long list of Bloggers, Youtubers and Beauty/Makeup lovers out there, who are obsessed with the Naked palettes from Urban Decay, by purchasing the Naked 3 palette. My first purchase from Urban Decay has been a good one indeed.

The palette is full of Rose-hued neutrals, and they are absolutely gorgeous. It has a range of finishes from mattes, pearls and metallics. Along with the palette I also purchased the longtime beauty fave, Primer Potion.

Hey guys and dolls,

It's been a hot minute since I last purchased from Sleek. There was a time when I was buying from them practically every week.

MUA Undress Me Too

Hey dolls,

I got this palette when I got the Undressed palette from Superdrug. You can see the post on this palette here. Like the Undressed palette I knew that not all the shades would be suitable for my skin tone. But there some good ones in this palette that I'm gonna get some good use out of. Like the original palette I'm also going to buy a duplicate palette for my make up kit.

I'm really excited to try out some looks with these. This is a dupe for Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette. So if you're on a budget and don't have the funds for a £30 palette I would definitely advise you to go out and get this gem. 12 shadows for £4 - BARGAIN!

 UPDATE 5/5/14:
I was looking at this palette and for some reason was inspecting the back of the packaging. I realised that there actually are names for the eyeshadows. #FAIL on my part.

Top row: Naked, Devotion, Shy, Fiery, Lavish, Dreamy
Bottom row: Tranquil, Exposed, Reveal Wink, Obsessed, Corrupt

MUA Undressed palette

Hey dolls,

I finally jumped on the band wagon and bought the Undressed palette from MUA (Make Up Academy). Now if you don't know who MUA are, they are a high street Make up brand available in superdrug or via their website. Their biggest appeal is that most of their make up can be bought for a £1.

The undressed palette has been compared time and time again to the Urban Decay Naked palette, and I'd have to agree that they are so similar (almost identical). But when faced with the choice of £30 on a palette or £4, its a no brainer. I got this in a 3 for 2 deal at superdrug (the other items from that haul are gonna trickle out over the next week or so).

Now I knew that when I bought this palette that a lot of the shades wouldn't suit me because Naked in the industry applies to lighter skinned ladies but I knew there were a few colours that I'd be able to pull off.

I ain't mad at this palette. I think I'm definitely gonna repurchase this and have it for my professional make up kit. It'll be great for weddings.

My camera was such a pain the day I took these, it wouldn't pick up certain colours, because in the flesh they didn't show up this faded. I need a new camera for sure.

Sleek 2012 collection

Hey dolls,

"Get into the spirit of the games in style with Sleek MakeUP’s limited edition 2012 Collection, capturing London’s most exciting event this summer. Featuring i-Divine in Glory, Blush in Honour and Pout Polish in Pride, it’s everything you’ll need to take you from day to night in true winning style!"

I first heard about this palette when Beauty by JJ, posted a pic of this palette on instagram and I fell in love with it. I'm not the most patriotic person but when I saw that the new palette was based around the London Underground I was so excited and thought it was such a cool idea. And I'm looking at the train lines and I was sat here like "I've used all these lines" I know I'm sad hahaha

Pout polish - Pride
£4.29

Blush - Honour
£4.29

The blush and pout polish are pretty much the same colour. They're a rose gold/bronze shade. They remind me of MAC's Rose pigment just not a shimmery. These really suit my skin tone I feel. I'm really impressed with this collection.

Swatches:
Top - Honour
Bottom - Pride

e/s palette - Glory
£7.99

Top L-R: Tube, Overground, Bakerloo, Jubilee, Platform, Northern
Bottom L-R:District, Hammersmith and city, Piccadilly, Circle, Victoria, Central

The top row minus Northern has very natural shades. And then the bottom line is very bright and out there. Which I LOVE. This palette is very versatile and is suitable for anytime of day or night.

Swatches

I thought for those of you who aren't from London or never used the tube I'd show the tube map where these palette was inspired by. This is the map we use to get around London. It looks confusing but once you get used to it, its not. So the e/s palette was based around some of these train lines. Some colours aren't exact but I don't mind.

I just noticed that in the Bronze, Silver and Gold medals on the packaging it has the name of the product on it. For example on the e/s palette on the gold medal it says glory, on the silver it says honour and on the bronze medal it says pride.

I would definitely recommend that if you can get your hands on this GET IT!!!!!!!!! Its amazing. And its not the easiest to get a hold of, the Stratford westfield superdrug has not got this in stock and neither does my town centre superdrug. So I was so happy to get this.

This is available in store and its finally available online :)

Sleek haul

Hey dolls,

So I was having a look on the sleek website a while back and I initially went on there with the intentions of buying the Ultra Matte palettes. But unfortunately they only had the brights, I really wanted V2 (which is still out of stock), and its not in store either :( So I keep checking back in the hopes its there but alas.

So any who, enough with my gibber jabber. On with the haul...

My goodies

Eau la la liners - £4
Top: Dragonfruit
Bottom: Moulin Rouge
Really love these pencils. I love the fact that you can use them for your eyes, lips and eyebrows. I'm a big fan of versatile products. I bought these for the sole purpose of being a lip liner. But I have had an idea as I'm writing this for something I can use these for :) The staying power of these is brilliant. I would eat and drink with this on and it wouldn't budge.

My free gift - Mini Mega shine lipgloss - Original

Glossed Lip gloss  Packs a punch - £3.59
This is my first lipgloss from Sleek and the colour is gorgeous. The only thing I don't like is the applicator. I prefer doe foot applicators.

Without flash
Ultra Matte V1 brights palette - £7
Top L-R: Chill, Pout, Sugarlite, Dragonfly, Pucker, Bammi
Bottom L-R: Cricket, Bolt, Strike, Floss, Crete, Pow!
 With flash

Swatches:

Top to bottom:
Packs a punch
Original
Dragon fruit
Moulin Rouge

L-R: Chill, Pout, Sugarlite, Dragonfly, Pucker, Bammi
Sadly the yellow did not show up on my skintone. I have yet to find a yellow that looks as pigmented as it does in the pan.I'm hoping if I use it along with the sleek primer palette it will show up more vibrant (fingers crossed).
L-R: Cricket, Bolt, Strike, Floss, Crete, Pow!
Like the yellow, the orange didn't show up too bright, but I'm hoping if I use the primer it will show up better. I'll update on this later.

NAILED polish - Turquoise - £3.89
Like the lipgloss, this nail polish was a first. And I can happily say that I I am very impressed. And this is the first of many purchases I will be making (not for a while though as I'm on a nail polish buying ban - I have way too many)

Avon Haul C10

Hi dolls,

OK so as I said in my last blog post, I had an Avon haul to put up and here it is.

I bought one of these last year to put my facial stuff in and also to save space on my dressing table and I loved it and was so annoyed that I hadn't gotten 2 of them. So I saw that it was listed as limited stock and thought right I'm getting it.
Country Rose Compartment Beauty Holder - £3

It has a front compartment
2 compartments on the inside
 And a back compartment

Nailwear Pro nail polish - Chery Jubilee -£1
This colour is gorgeous. Its a deep cherry red. You'll need about 2 coats for an even finish. And make sure to use a base coat. Another note is this nail polish is pain to remove and goes all over your fingers. But that wont deter me from wearing it.
I got this nail polish on offer.

Naturals Strawberry and White Chocolate collection
Theses products smell AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! They smell like sweets. after I used it I just sat there sniffing my hands haha.
In the collection you get 3 items.
Hand and Body lotion -  If you suffer from dry skin this isn't gonna do much for you. But if you don't then Id defo go and buy this
Shower gel - not much to say on this is just your standard shower gel
Room and linen spray - I love spraying this on my clothes and then throwing them in the tumble dryer, the smell really soaks in. And My room constantly smells of this spray.
Catalogue price - £9.60

Ideal Luminous Blush  - Russet

This is a gorgeous blusher. It  can be subtle and add just a flush of colour to the cheeks. Or if you want it a bit stronger just build up the colour. This has been my go to blush since I got it.
Catalogue price - £6.50

Swatch:

Color Trend
They have re-vamped the packaging for the color trend collection and they came out with a few new shades of lipstick, eyeshadows.

Eyeshadow Duo
I've never tried ColorTrend eyeshadwos before so I only got 2. I'm very happy with the pigmentation and look forward to wearing them. I chose Violetta to see if their brighter colours would show up on me and I chose Chocolate kiss for the more natural days.
L: Violetta
R: Chocolate Kiss
Catalogue price - £4.50
Pencil Play Eyeliner in Turquoise.
Catalogue price - £3

Swatches:
Top row: Turquoise
Middle row: Violetta and Chocolate Kiss
Bottom: Russet

Kiss 'n' Go lipstick
L: Poppy Love
R: Doll Pink
L: Passion
R: Rich Ruby
This lipstick are great. They are very pigmented and come in a range of colours to suit all skin tones. I'm a big fan of the ColorTrend range. I'm gonna try out their new nail polishes next.I know the colours are quite similar but they are different I promise :) I'm trying to branch out my colour range.
 Catalogue price - £3.75

Read my lips lip gloss in Kiss Kiss
I've only bought one other lip gloss in this range and it wasn't that pigmented. So I was really surprised when I swatched this how pigmented the product is. I'm very impressed.
Catalogue price - £3.75

Swatches:

Poppy Love, Doll Pink (top 2), Passion, Rich Ruby (Bottom 2). To the right: Kiss Kiss.

Polka dot Earrings Set
These are so cute. I love stud earrings. The main reason I wanted this set was the heart earrings, love them.
Catalogue price - £7

Look out for my Evans mini shoe haul and my Sleek haul.
