Nails Inc Gel Effect

Hey dolls,

Nails Inc have released 4 limited edition gel effect nail polishes, 2 of their bestsellers and 2 limited edition shades. These beauties were part of my swag bag from the Nails Inc blogger event I attended. You can see the post on that here.

I love the shape of the bottle, it so chic. But for some people wouldn't be the ideal shape to hold when applying the polish. Luckily the rectangular lid can come off for an easier application. Something I noticed with the lids is that they look exactly like the nail polish. So I checked the website and it said that lids were colour matched and given a high gloss finish that reflects the gel effect finish of the polish.

Swatches

BOND STREET
Rich violet (limited edition)
This is the colour I had when I had my monogram manicure. You can see that post here.

PORCHESTER SQUARE
Muted mushroom
This is one of Nails Inc's best sellers. I can see why, its one of those nude shades that suits EVERY skin tone.

KENSINGTON HIGH STREET
Deep mulberry (limited edition)
This is one of those made for autumn shades.

ST JAMES
Pillar box red. Another one of Nails Inc's best sellers, this a gorgeous bright red.

Formulated with revolutionary plasticiser technology, the gel effect polishes provide a high shin and super glossy finish. The polish has the same plumping effect that you'd get from having a proper gel manicure. These are just as good as a real gel manicure without the hassle of removing and the cost.

The polishes leave you with a flawless finish, they don't streak and apply so evenly. The wide brush makes application super speedy, they also dry quite quick as well. I'm very impressed with these polishes.

The gel effect polishes retail at £14 each.

Nails Inc Monogram Manicure

Hey dolls,

If you saw my last blog post on the nails inc event (if not, you can see that here) I said I would be sharing with you all the amazing items I got to view at the event.

"Make a statememt, send a message or write your name. Nails Inc, the pioneers of special effects for nails, now launch the ultimate in nail personalisation - the Monogram Manicure."

The main attraction of the event...the MONOGRAM MANICURE! Personalised nails is such a fun and super cute idea. I feel this is gonna become a really popular trend. I love that they have the option of black and white letters so that they can be used on any shade.

Monogram Manicure collection - £20

In the monogram kit you get:
  • 4 sheets of monogram nail letters (2 white, 2 black)
  • Southbank - cool grey nail polish
  • Mayfair Place - deep plum nail polish
  • Kensington caviar 45 second to coat
  • Cuticle wood stick
Featured Nail Polishes: 'Southbank' and 'Mayfair Place'

How to use your monogram kit:
  • Apply a base coat
  • Apply 2 coats of your chosen polish - let dry for at least 10-15 minutes before applying your letters or symbols
  • Using your orange stick place your chosen letter or symbol onto the nail
  • Use your fingers to smooth the edges of the letter or symbol to make sure its firmly in place
  • Apply a top coat

My Monogram Manicure

At the event we got to choose from the new gel effects range as our base for the manicure. I chose Bond Street, which was a happy accident (as the event was held at the Bond Street store). Bond Street is this gorgeous creamy violet shade. (Check back on my blog to see my post on the Gel effect polishes).

 SONYA!

#MKUP

I absolutely loved this manicure and am definitely going to be recreating this again.

The monogram manicure is now available nationwide so pop into any Nails Inc nail bar and get your very own personalised manicure at an added £6 to the cost of any manicure.

Sleek Snapshots palette

Hey dolls,

The purchase of this palette was one of the biggest fails ever lol. Scroll past the lovely pics and swatches to find out why...

 Snapshots
£8

 Top Row L-R:
Summer Breeze, Martini, Kiwi Flower, Lotus Flower, Humming Bird, Tequila Sunrise

Bottom Row L-R:
Sand Walker, Washed Ashore, Sunset, Green Iguana, Purple Haze, Magenta Madness

OK So I'm angry. Not because there is anything wrong with the palette but because I spent £8 on 12 eyeshadows I already own. Each of these shadows are re-releases of eyeshadows from 2 limited edition palettes. I was not aware that sleek were re-releasing a palette of limited edition shades, it never said that on the website. But its only as I was swatching the palette and looking at the names, I kept having a sense of déjà vu. So I looked over some of my older sleek posts to come to the shocking conclusion that I owned ALL of these eyedahdows. FAIL!

My local Tesco now has a Sleek counter...YAY! Which is where I discovered that the Sleek palettes had gone up in price, only by a mere £1.51 but I paid more for something I already own, UGH!

This palette works out great for people who missed out on the Caribbean and Mediterranean collections. You can see below which shadows were from which LE palette accompanied by a link to take you to the post on said palettes.

Monaco palette:
Summer Breeze
Kiwi Flower - also known as 'Kiwi Zest'
Lotus Flower
Humming Bird
Sand Walker
Washed Ashore
Sunset
Magenta Madness

Curacao palette:
Martini
Tequila Sunrise
Green Iguana
Purple Haze

The only difereence between the palettes is that they no longer have the old crosshatch pattern and one of the shadows had a name change.

In conclusion the Snapshots palette is a good palette, the colours and quality live up to sleeks usual standards and is great for those who never got to try the previously mentioned LE palettes.

And always rememeber to make sure you check your make up inventory before you go out to buy more products lol.

Sleek Blush by 3

Hi my lovelies,

So I have really been out of the make up scene as late, like I said in my previous Avon haul I have only been buying from Avon because it is at my disposal.

I was watching Jennie's latest haul video on her youtube channel beautybyjj, and she mentioned how she had bought these new limited edition blushes from sleek. As I was out on Tuesday I thought I'd head into my town centre and check out the new blushes. There are 5 sets full of beautiful colours suitable for all skin tones. Some of the sets had one or two blushes that I could wear but then there'd be one or two blushes in a set that I wouldn't be able to use. So I settled for the one I'm really disappointed that these are limited edition cos these are really great and good value for money. Unfortunately for those outside of the UK you cant buy these blushes online, they're only available in Superdrug.

I got the set in PINK SPRINT, as you can tell from the name its all pink based blushes, which are all suitable for my skin tone :) These blush sets retail at £9.99

Left to right: Pink Parfait, Pink Ice, Pinktini
Theses blushes are all a matte finish, which I really like cos I'm not a huge fan of shimmery blush. These colours are highly pigmented and the colours are buildable/blendable.

Top to bottom: Pink Parfait, Pink Ice, Pinktini

If any of you have bought any of theses sets link me to your posts :)

Superdrug Mini Haul

Hello loves,

So I dunno if you remember from my birthday haul, I got a Superdrug giftcard from my bestie Leanne. As I was going into my town centre to collect my Sleek package I thought I might as well go spend it cos Superdrug was like literally 30seconds away. I picked up a few items....

I got cotton wool haha on a deal 2 for £2.49 (not really interesting but it was an essential item)
Make Up Academy (MUA) Matte eyeshadow Shade 17 - £1
This is a nice matte flesh toned eyeshadow that I use as a brow highlight.

Make Up Academy (MUA) Matte eyeshadow Shade 18 - £1
When I saw this in the shop and swatched it I thought it was quite pigmented but when I actually used it on the eye it didn't come out well at all. I might try and use this wet and see if it comes up more vibrant.

Make Up Academy (MUA) Lip gloss Shade 3 - £1
A gorgeous sheer pink lipgloss. I wore this the other day and it was so nice and lasted quite a while until I had something to eat and drink haha. Really nice purchase very happy with it.

I think I might purchase some more MUA products. They're really cheap and the quality ain't too bad. I think next time I pick an eyeshadow I will be more careful haha when I check the pigmentation. But do you know what as much as the purple didn't come out as expected you cant scoff at the quality and prices of theses items.

Limited edition nail effect - Lilac Foil - £3.99
If you spend £6 on Barry M you get this free but there wasn't really anything I needed from Barry M at the moment. So I thought  I might as well just get the polish on its own.

Sleek Make up Haul

Hello all,

I'm finally back with a blog post. A couple weeks back I ordered a few items from Sleek makeup, which I tweeted about, but since I've been so so busy with my new job I just have not had the time to blog, and with the little free time I did have I'd be chilling cos I'd just be so tired from work.

But as I have the day off  today I thought I would finally get around to posting about the stuff I bought.
Caribbean Collection (Limited Edition)

Curacao - £6.49

"Embrace the exotic colours of paradise with the 12 shades of the Curacao i-Divine. From deep sea blue’s to zesty oranges and vivid coral’s, create endless striking looks using contrasting shades or make an entrance with an effortless sweep of colour.  For the ultimate exotic look, team with Aruba blush and Bonaire Pout Polish."
Top L-R: Tequila Sunrise, Martini, Blue Hawaii, Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, Green Iguana
Bottom L-R: Apres Midori, Blue Lagoon, Purple Haze, Green Martini, Singapore Sling, Espresso Martini
This palette is GORGEOUS!!!!!! You couldn't ask for more out of a palette, the colours really represent the collection. So bright and pigmented. I love it. The only disappopining thing is the yellow eyeshadow isn't very pigmented on my skin. I'd give the palette 4.5 out of 5. Its still available in store and online so I would defo get yourself down to your local Superdrug or on the sleek website and purchase this bad boy, :)

 Aruba Blush - £4.30

"Aruba blush provides the ultimate colour of paradise, sweep on lightly for a tropical wash of coral or layer to build an intense holiday hue.  Team with the Curacao i-Divine and Bonaire pout polish to complete your colourful Caribbean inspired look."
 Bonaire pout polish - £4.30
"Get luscious lips with Bonaire pout polish, the tangerine tinted gloss is enriched with jojoba, avocado, and sweet almond oil as well as SPF15, so you can simmer away in summer’s rays whilst your pout remains perfectly protected.  Team with Curacao i-Divine and Aruba blush for this summer’s essential holiday collection."
I lost the picture of the swatches of the lip gloss and blush. The lip gloss has a slight hint of orange when applied and it has a nice scent which is fitting for the collection, its kinda coconut-y the blush is pretty much what you see is what you get, its very bright, but it is build-able. I like to mix Aruba with Santorini (Mediterranean collection)

Oh So Special - £6.49 (Limited Edition)

"It’s the ultimate i-Divine that every woman should have in her possession, with 12 flattering on-trend shades to suit all skin tones no matter what the occasion, the Oh So Special palette will always deliver the perfect results. Take your look from day time chic with matte browns and creamy beiges, through to sultry evening glamour with shimmering grays and smokey plums. A make-up bag staple and a must-have i-Divine you can rely on, so no matter where you are or what you’re doing you’ll look Oh So Special!"

Top L-R: Bow, Organza, Ribbon, Gift Basket, Glitz, Celebrate
Bottom L-R: Pamper, Gateau, The Mail, Boxed, Wrapped Up, Noir
This palette reminds of me of the Storm palette, with obvious differences, but the main similarity is that you can create neutral and dramatic eye looks with this. I defo will be using this palette to create a Smoky eye. The colours are really pigmented, like ALL Sleek palettes. I couldn't manage to purchase the palette in ANY Superdrug store cos they were sold out, much like the Curacao palette. So I would make sure you go online and buy this palette.I'd give this palette a 4.5 out of 5.
Scandalous Blush £4.30
"The silky-fine formulation provides long lasting blusher which helps to create a subtle but radiant cheek area.
Apply using a small powder/blusher brush, by swirling the brush over the surface of the blusher. Tap off excess powder and apply onto the apples of the cheeks to emphasise your cheeks and your smile, or just below the cheek bone to create a sculpted look."
The blush is a nice colour that can be used for day or night as its build-able, it can give you that subtle hint of colour and then you can amp it up for the evening.
Eyebrow pencil in Brown - £2.59
"A creamy formula pencil used to fill in, shape and define eyebrows without smudging or flaking."
I don't usually use eyebrow pencil, I normally use eyeshadow, but I thought I might mix it up and try a pencil instead. That is when I bother to do my eyebrows haha. I do find that pencil is a lot more, what's the word I'm looking for? Erm...its a lot more daring than I'm used to, cos it's a lot more full on than how I would normally do my eyebrows. I just need to get past that initial..."WHOA!" stage.
Kohl Eyeliner pencil in Black - £2.59
"An ultra creamy-matte formula pencil used to define the eyes."
My MAC Smolder kohl pencil is coming up to a nub, so I thought I might try Sleeks Kohl eyeliner pencil. So far I like it.
Eye Drama mascara in Black Out - £4
"This state of the art mascara has an ultra flexible silicone brush. The formulation contains nylon fibres adding both length and volume to each lash, creating a dramatic effect."
This is a great mascara, I could see an instant difference and I love the wand. I never used a wand like the one that comes with this mascara. I'm a big fan :)

Free Gift - Mini High shine lip gloss in the colour "In your Dreams"

The colour isn't coming out too well in the photo, but what is in the packaging is what comes out on the lips. Gorgeous colour and really nice scent to it as well :)

Hope you enjoyed the post. I should hopefully get another one up tomorrow or Sunday :o)

Sleek Palette Review - Good Girl, Bad Girl and NEW Primer palette

Finally, after I don't know how many months I am finally blogging about the limited edition Sleek Good Girl and Bad Girl palettes that came out last year. Again I cant begin to apologise on the fail that is my blogposts, college work has been kicking my ass and soaking up all my free time, which meant i had to put my blog on the back burner. Along side these palettes I am also reviewing the new Primer palette I purchased on Saturday from Superdrug.
Good Girl:

When I first saw this palette I was like, meh these wont work on my skin tone, but when I swatched them I was proven very wrong. They are gorgeous, the colours range from pink to coral to a red wine kind of colour. It is so lovely and I'm so pleased that I got this. This and the Bad girl palette were a birthday present from my sister. Like all Sleek palettes the colours are very pigmented and vibrant and apply soooooo nicely. So if you love pinks, or wanna be a human barbie doll this is the palette for you :D

I give this palette a 5 out of 5

Colours: Top left to right: Lychee, Meringue, Candy Floss, Lollipop, Pink Punch, CupcakeBottom left to right: Strawberry Sorbet, Pink Grapefruit, Peach Melba, Papaya, Raspberry Coulis, Morello

Bad Girl:

If you are looking to create dark or smokey/smoky eyes this palette is right up your street. It has wonderfully dark colours, and will definitely bring out the bad girl in you hahaha (sorry I had to haha). Again this palette is gorgeous, colours are very pigmented and apply well and I'm glad my sister got me these (at my request for my birthday). The only thing I would complain about is that the colour Obnoxious is a bit crumbly and even after tapping away the excess still has quite a bit of fall down :( but its still so pretty on the eyes. This palette is still available for purchase.

From the website:

"I Divine is a highly pigmented, soft touch eye shadow palette that possesses 12 pearlescent or matte shades. The pearlescent shades possess a large amount of mica and reflect the light giving a shimmering effect to the eye. The colour viewed in the palette is the colour that will be applied to the eye, as the payoff is excellent and the formulation is long lasting.

Bad girl contains strong and deep shades which allow one to uncover their hidden fantasies. This palette can be extreme, powerful, confident as well as sensual. "

I give this palette a 4 out of 5

Colours:
Top left to right: Innocence, Gullible, Blade, Gun Metal, Underground, NoirBottom left to right: Intoxicated, Envy, Obnoxious, Abyss, Twilight, Rebel

Primer:

I bought this palette last Saturday and I haven't had time to really play around with it, but while swatching it I found that I really like these, and feel like these are going to come in handy as primers. But as a first impression I like them, they are sooooo creamy :) You can purchase this palette here.
From the website:
"A palette of 12 coloured eye primers perfectly designed to use with all Sleek MakeUP i-DIVINE Palettes. Long-lasting and specially designed to breath a new lease of life into your eyeshadows."

So sleek seems to be naming their products now and the slide in little plastic thing that sits on the eyeshadows with the names on was incorrectly printed so I don't know if it was just my palette or a botched batch (say that two times fast hahah) so I kinda guessed which name actually went with which colour.

Colours:
Top left to right: Moonshine, Calypso, Ultra Violet, Dare Devil, Pink Frost, Silver LiningBottom left to right: Noir, Money Honey, Money Tree, Truffle, Hot Wired, Peach

This palette cost £6.99

and for first impression I give it a 4 out of 5.

If after using this consistently my mind changes I will let you know, But I'm am slowly dwindling, not even sure if this post makes sense, but I'm just too tired so yeah. I am gonna go and fall into a deep sleep my lovelies :D

I hope you enjoyed this post. I shall be back tomorrow with a post on the skincare products I purchased and some new skincare finds :) Until then ta ta.

Nighty night.
