Superdrug Mini Haul

Hello loves,

So I dunno if you remember from my birthday haul, I got a Superdrug giftcard from my bestie Leanne. As I was going into my town centre to collect my Sleek package I thought I might as well go spend it cos Superdrug was like literally 30seconds away. I picked up a few items....

I got cotton wool haha on a deal 2 for £2.49 (not really interesting but it was an essential item)
Make Up Academy (MUA) Matte eyeshadow Shade 17 - £1
This is a nice matte flesh toned eyeshadow that I use as a brow highlight.

Make Up Academy (MUA) Matte eyeshadow Shade 18 - £1
When I saw this in the shop and swatched it I thought it was quite pigmented but when I actually used it on the eye it didn't come out well at all. I might try and use this wet and see if it comes up more vibrant.

Make Up Academy (MUA) Lip gloss Shade 3 - £1
A gorgeous sheer pink lipgloss. I wore this the other day and it was so nice and lasted quite a while until I had something to eat and drink haha. Really nice purchase very happy with it.

I think I might purchase some more MUA products. They're really cheap and the quality ain't too bad. I think next time I pick an eyeshadow I will be more careful haha when I check the pigmentation. But do you know what as much as the purple didn't come out as expected you cant scoff at the quality and prices of theses items.

Limited edition nail effect - Lilac Foil - £3.99
If you spend £6 on Barry M you get this free but there wasn't really anything I needed from Barry M at the moment. So I thought  I might as well just get the polish on its own.

Birthday (sort of) Haul

 Helloooo,

Ok so my birthday was like 3 weeks ago and I completely forgot to upload the gifts I got and what I bought myself with my birthday money :)

Some stuff was interesting, some was less interesting...but never the less I'm gonna show you. So lets get started...

First up are the bits I brought with my birthday money.

Superdrug had a lot of Simple Skincare items going for £2 each so I thought hey might as well take advantage of this offer. So I got my cleanser, toner, eye make up remover and face wipes. And I love how all the Simple products now come with a flick lid instead of a screw top because its so much easier when I'm sat on my bed doing my routine, now I don't have to keep closing and opening lids and just making the process really long.

And the other two items in the picture are Dove Go Fresh roll on deodorants I love these bad boys haha and they were on offer at 99p each :) The yellow one is - Grapefruit and lemongrass and the blue one is - Waterlily and fresh mint.

Superdrug were also doing a 3 for 2 on all cosmetics. So I got 3 Gosh Nail Lacquers. 1 ordinary and 2 of their cracked ones. And then I got 3 Barry M nail paints.

GOSH NAIL LACQUERS

GOSH nail lacquer - BLUE BALLOON - £4.99
This polish is very opaque and this is just after one coat :) This is a nice colour, I have quite a few blue nail polishes but nothing like this blue. Its coming alot brighter in the picture because of the flash

GOSH CRACKED nail lacquer - PINK - £5.49
I already had the Pink Barry M crackle nail paint but it randomly dried and went really hard after like 2 uses. I was NOT IMPRESSED. So I brought this one as a replacement.

GOSH CRACKED nail lacquer - SILVER - £5.49
Its nice but it looks more shimmery/glittery in the bottle than it does on the nails. It tends to look more matte but its better once you apply a top coat.

As good quality as these polishes are I don't think they're worth £5.49 especially when you can get the Barry M crackle paints for £3.99, the only one I probably would suggest is the Silver one because BarryM doesn't have that colour. They also don't have a huge range of colours. I'm hoping they come out with more colours and that the price goes down cos I do like this polishes but like I said i do not like the price tag.

BarryM NAIL PAINTS

All the polishes I used only one coat to get the opaque finish. Whenever I find a polishes like this it makes me a very happy girl. I like having products worth their price.

Nail paint - Spring Green £2.99

  319 FOIL - Silver - £3.99
When I first heard about the new nail effects polishes from Barry M I was like hmmmm these look interesting. But every time I would go into Superdrug I was broke so I couldn't pick them up. So when I saw that they had the 3 for 2 deal I was like, I'm getting these.

319 FOIL - Gold - £3.99

Dirty Dancing - £3
This has been one of my favourite films since I was young. I always wanted to go on vacation and find my own Johnny Castle haha. It NEVER happened lol.

Other stuff I got but didn't bother to take pictures of was:
  • Socks from Primark - I think I got one double pack and then 2 knee length pairs. Really nice and snuggly just in time for winter. I don't know if anyone saw on my twitter but I like LIVE for Primark socks, they are really good quality and so cheap :)
  • And I got a double pack of black gloves. Cos its getting really cold and my fingertips need warmth.
All the stuff I got from Primark came to £6
Gifts from my besties

So both my besties brought me presents, which I wasn't expecting and pleasantly surprised by :) And my family gave me money (its like the only thing I ever ask for, for my birthdays anymore haha)

So the two gifts at the front are phallic shaped candies from Ann Summers (which Im not sure if I can have this picture up but hey lol *fingers crossed*) and a Superdrug gift card (which I'm excited to spend :D). Those were from my little poppet Leanne :) and behind those gifts is a Hugo Boss perfume from my home skillet biscuit Kimmy (if you ever watched That's So Raven the nickname would make sense haha)

Close up of the perfume.

HUGO BOSS Orange perfume it comes with a little hand moisturiser that smells like the perfume (obvi haha)

I LOVE the unique shape of this bottle which hasn't come up very well in the picture. it looks like its made out of gemstones. And the smell of this perfume is just utterly GORGEOUS!

That's it. I was quite happy with what I got for my birthday, not the most exciting but who cares :)

Sleek Palette Review - Good Girl, Bad Girl and NEW Primer palette

Finally, after I don't know how many months I am finally blogging about the limited edition Sleek Good Girl and Bad Girl palettes that came out last year. Again I cant begin to apologise on the fail that is my blogposts, college work has been kicking my ass and soaking up all my free time, which meant i had to put my blog on the back burner. Along side these palettes I am also reviewing the new Primer palette I purchased on Saturday from Superdrug.
Good Girl:

When I first saw this palette I was like, meh these wont work on my skin tone, but when I swatched them I was proven very wrong. They are gorgeous, the colours range from pink to coral to a red wine kind of colour. It is so lovely and I'm so pleased that I got this. This and the Bad girl palette were a birthday present from my sister. Like all Sleek palettes the colours are very pigmented and vibrant and apply soooooo nicely. So if you love pinks, or wanna be a human barbie doll this is the palette for you :D

I give this palette a 5 out of 5

Colours: Top left to right: Lychee, Meringue, Candy Floss, Lollipop, Pink Punch, CupcakeBottom left to right: Strawberry Sorbet, Pink Grapefruit, Peach Melba, Papaya, Raspberry Coulis, Morello

Bad Girl:

If you are looking to create dark or smokey/smoky eyes this palette is right up your street. It has wonderfully dark colours, and will definitely bring out the bad girl in you hahaha (sorry I had to haha). Again this palette is gorgeous, colours are very pigmented and apply well and I'm glad my sister got me these (at my request for my birthday). The only thing I would complain about is that the colour Obnoxious is a bit crumbly and even after tapping away the excess still has quite a bit of fall down :( but its still so pretty on the eyes. This palette is still available for purchase.

From the website:

"I Divine is a highly pigmented, soft touch eye shadow palette that possesses 12 pearlescent or matte shades. The pearlescent shades possess a large amount of mica and reflect the light giving a shimmering effect to the eye. The colour viewed in the palette is the colour that will be applied to the eye, as the payoff is excellent and the formulation is long lasting.

Bad girl contains strong and deep shades which allow one to uncover their hidden fantasies. This palette can be extreme, powerful, confident as well as sensual. "

I give this palette a 4 out of 5

Colours:
Top left to right: Innocence, Gullible, Blade, Gun Metal, Underground, NoirBottom left to right: Intoxicated, Envy, Obnoxious, Abyss, Twilight, Rebel

Primer:

I bought this palette last Saturday and I haven't had time to really play around with it, but while swatching it I found that I really like these, and feel like these are going to come in handy as primers. But as a first impression I like them, they are sooooo creamy :) You can purchase this palette here.
From the website:
"A palette of 12 coloured eye primers perfectly designed to use with all Sleek MakeUP i-DIVINE Palettes. Long-lasting and specially designed to breath a new lease of life into your eyeshadows."

So sleek seems to be naming their products now and the slide in little plastic thing that sits on the eyeshadows with the names on was incorrectly printed so I don't know if it was just my palette or a botched batch (say that two times fast hahah) so I kinda guessed which name actually went with which colour.

Colours:
Top left to right: Moonshine, Calypso, Ultra Violet, Dare Devil, Pink Frost, Silver LiningBottom left to right: Noir, Money Honey, Money Tree, Truffle, Hot Wired, Peach

This palette cost £6.99

and for first impression I give it a 4 out of 5.

If after using this consistently my mind changes I will let you know, But I'm am slowly dwindling, not even sure if this post makes sense, but I'm just too tired so yeah. I am gonna go and fall into a deep sleep my lovelies :D

I hope you enjoyed this post. I shall be back tomorrow with a post on the skincare products I purchased and some new skincare finds :) Until then ta ta.

Nighty night.

Superdrug mini haul and nails of the day

So I went shopping on Tuesday and Superdrug are having a 3 for 2 mix and match deal going on, so I took advantage of that and picked up 3 items in the store. I got the NEW LIMITED EDITION Sparkle palette, Barry M Instant nail effect and a Sleek blusher in #935 Flushed. After popping into Superdrug I went into boots and picked up a Sally Hansen nail polish.

Continue below for some pics of the stuff I bought.

Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base Coat
Cost - £4.49

Top row - Cranberry, Dream Maker, Galactic, Twinkle, Star Light, Noir
Bottom row - Illusion, Festive, Mistletoe, Glitz & Glamour, Gold Ribbon, Tinsel

Sleek Limited Edition Sparkle palette - When I opened this palette I could not believe how sparkly the shadows were. I love the packaging it comes in, so christmasy :) I very much love the fact that the Limited edition shadows are getting names now (I hope they keep it up), I really disliked the fact that they never had them before, I like to be able to refer to a shadow with its name and not just a number or no name at all.

The shimmer in the shadows goes all the way through and not just on top. I think this is now my favourite palette out of all my sleek make up.
Cost - £5.99

This has made my hand look extra large, like its swollen or something :-S

Sleek Blush - #935 Flushed - A gorgeous deep rose colour, I love it. It blends so well into the skin. Definitely a good purchase :)
Cost - £3.99

Barry M Instant Nail Effects - always use a base coat, do not try and put this straight onto the nail (my sister learnt that the hard way hahah). I actually am not in love with this product, from pictures I had seen I thought that I would fall in love, but I found that when using it on non Barry M nail paints it didn't come out very well. Maybe I didn't wait long enough before applying the BMINE* over my other nail polish but I will try again and then update you guys :)
Cost - £2.99 (got this one free on the deal.)

Nails of the day:

On my nails -
  • Sally Hansen Double duty base and top coat
  • Barry M Ice cream range nail paints and Mint green nail paint (see reveiw here)
  • Barry M Instant nail effects

So after painting my nails for the Barry M nail paint review I thought why not keep my nails like this so, I re-did it and then did the rest of my nails, using the BMINE nail paint. I liked how it came out over the BMNP** but as I said above it didn't work so great on non BMNP.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post :)

Barry M Ice Cream Nail paint review

Firstly let me apologise for the state of my nails, they all just recently broke, and then due to stress I started biting them. But I have just started using this Sally Hansen nail strengthener, so I am hoping to start seeing some results soon :) Anyways onto the review

So I brought these nail paints a while ago, I got them because I saw that my friend Stevie had them and I like instantly fell in love haha, I'm not usually a fan of pastel colours, but I really liked them and at the time I had heard that they were Limited Edition and I couldn't find them anywhere for a while, but I was out shopping in Camden and saw them in Superdrug and was like "oh their back" lol, but typical when I see something I want I'm broke so I couldn't get them. So on a random shopping day I was like what happens if I just pop in to my local Superdrug and see if they had the paints in...and they did :) The polishes I got were #308 Berry Ice Cream, #306 Blueberry Ice Cream, #309 Strawberry Ice Cream, #307 Lemon Ice Cream and the last one was not one of the Ice Cream range but because it was a pastel colour and I thought it would fit the collection I got #304 Mint Green.

I also have to apologise for how messy my nails are and if you see any peeling skin (sorry if that's kinda gross lol) its cos my hands get really dry in the winter (no matter how much I moisturize them).

Mint Green

Berry

Blueberry

Lemon

Strawberry

Each of these colours were applied with two coats except for Blueberry Ice Cream, that one is really opaque after one coat. I really like these paints and when I wear them I do the kid thing and paint each nail a different colour so my hand looks likes sweets lol. This is definitely something you should purchase. Love them.
