SKINCARE: La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sun Care

Hey guys and dolls,

ANTHELIOS
As the weather is heating up (sort of) we need to make sure we protect our skin. I am gonna be honest, I don't tend to wear SPF unless it's already in my make up or skin care. I think the last time I went out of my way to wear sun care was when I went to Egypt in 2011.

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser

Hey guys and dolls,

If you've read my blog for a while you'll know that I suffer with very dry skin. I'm always on the lookout for different products to keep my skin from drying out too quickly.

I've used Nivea for a number of years and I was really intrigued when they released this item.

La Roche-Posay blogger event

Hey guys and dolls,

Even if you haven't tried one of their products before, everyone in the beauty community has heard of the french skincare brand La Roche-Posay.

I attended an event to hear about the ever so popular Effaclar Duo [+]. I hadn't tried the original product so I'm glad I get to try the improved version. We sat down and listened to a presentation about what the products is and the benefits of using the cream.

Avon haul C14

Hey dolls,

I've taken a step back from purchasing from Avon recently. I have spent SO MUCH money on their products and I needed to calm it down a little. So this will probably be the last Avon post you see for a little while. Which I'm sure some of you will be happy with, because for a while it's all I posted about on here which probably didn't do me any favours. It got a little repetitive I think. Anyhow on with the haul.

Skin So Soft Body Butter

Hey dolls,

Skin So Soft Body Butter 200ml
£2.50 - half price

I love the Skin So Soft range from Avon, the original SSS has to be my favourite.
I've used their dry oil body spray and bath oil and not been disappointed.

I'm continuously on the hunt for a rich, nourishing and long lasting body moisturiser and I think I've found it in these body butters.

Original Body Butter
enriched with jojoba

"Deeply hydrating ultra-rich formula, helps soothe and quench extra dry skin."

I've been using this for about 3 weeks and I'm very impressed! I'm really critical of moisturisers because all the ones that claim to be for dry skin never work for me. A few hours after using certain moisturisers my skin would feel dry and be visibly dry. I haven't had that problem with either of these moisturisers.

I also love the scent of the original

Silky Moisture Body Butter
 enriched with argan
"Deeply hydrating ultra-rich formula, helps soothe and quench extra dry skin."

I don't love  the scent of this body butter but I do love the way it makes my skin feel, it feels so soft. It doesn't feel as thick as the original but its still rich. Very very impressed.

If you suffer with really dry skin like me then I'd definitely comnsider adding these to your skin care regime. These are still available at half price on the Avon website.

What are some moisturisers you'd recommend for really dry skin?

ORIGINAL SOURCE body wash

Hey dolls,

I've seen quite a few people using these soaps but never thought of picking one up myself.

Tesco had them going half price, so thought what better time to try it. But I couldn't just choose one, so I got 3.

From the image you can clearly see which one is my favourite.
I've been using these for a couple weeks now, just so I could really see how I feel about these soaps.

These soaps smells amazing! Lemon and Lime are so fresh and those kinds of smells first thing in the morning really do wake you up.

Pink Grapefruit smells like sweets, doesn't smell like fruit at all. But I don't care. I smell good enough to eat when I use this.

The only problem I have with these soaps is that they don't lather up as much as I like.

 Pink Grapefruit - £1.10
MY FAVOURITE! And it makes me sad that its only seasonal :(

 Lime - £1.10
Are limes less pungent than lemons? Cos this soap was made with 40 real limes, whereas the lemon one was made with 10 real lemons? Random thought for you all there haha.

Lemon and Tea Tree - £1.10
This one may be my least favourite, it smells lovely but I think the tea tree is throwing me off. If you happen to have a chance to go and smell this you'll see what I mean.

What are your favourite Original Source scents?

Garnier Face Wipes

Hey dolls,

Garnier Skin Naturals Soft Essentials Rose  Face Wipes
£1.75 (half price)

On a jaunt to tesco on the hunt for some Rimmel make up items (which you can see here) I came across these face wipes. Whenever I don't have to pay full price for something I'm all over it, I mean who isn't? Sometimes it's to my detriment because sometimes I 'll pick up something whether I need it or not, I just cant ignore a deal...don't judge me haha.

Now we all know that I swear by Simple face wipes, they're all I've used for the past few years.
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of rose scented items it wasn't an over powering rose scent, they were half price and I was in desperate need of some make up wipes.

They weren't as moist as the Simple wipes but they got the job done well. In fact I did a make up look on myself using aquacolour and greasepaint, if you're a make up artist/student or a lover of SFX make up or face painting you know these items are quite the bitch to get off. I used these to remove the brunt of the make up and I was pleasantly surprised how well they got it off.

Another good thing I like about these is that after I used them I didn't have the urge to want to scratch off my skin or feel like Id just removed a layer of skin, cos with various face wipes Ive used from other brands I've had terrible reactions to. That's why I stick to simple because I have really sensitive skin.

40 Beauty Questions Tag

Hello Everyone,

I thought that since all I have done on this blog is Sleek palette reviews that I might do a tag that I saw on YouTube and liked, its fairly old but I'm not too bothered by that :) So here it is...

SKINCARE:

How many times do you wash your face daily?

Twice – I do a cleanse, tone and moisturize in the morning. And I use face wipes and eye make up remover (if I have won make up that day) in the evening followed by a face wash and moisturiser.

What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)

I have combination skin, it’s dry and sensitive. It gets especially dry in extremely cold/hot weather.

What is your current facial wash?

Simple purifying cleansing lotion (Daytime)

Simple Moisturising Foaming Face Wash (Nighttime)

Do you exfoliate?

Yes I do, once a week.

What brand do you use?

Clarity Exfoliating face wash.

What moisturizer do you use?

Simple Hydrating light moisturizer.

Do you have freckles?

Yes around my eyes, but their not that noticeable when I wear foundation.

Do you use eye cream?

No.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

I wouldn’t say my skin was acne prone but like most people I would get the occasional spot or a few pimples nothing too serious.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

No, like I said my skin was prone to a few spots but nothing that needed a product like pro active.

MAKE-UP

What foundation do you use?
I use MAC Studio fix fluid NC50.

How about concealer?

I don’t use concealer, although I know I probably should.

Do you know your undertone color?

Yes, I have yellow undertones to my skin, which means I have warm undertones.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?

I think for a night out or a dramatic look they are great but for everyday it’s not for me.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes I did know that, do I do it? Not all the time lol.

What brand of mascara do you use?

It depends, but at the moment I am using RIMMEL The max volume flash mascara. This is the best mascara I have used for a long time.

Sephora or MAC?

I would love to shop at Sephora but as I live in England and we do not have a Sephora over here I would have to say MAC.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

No.

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?

I use MAC brushes mainly, latex wedges and some random drugstore brushes which are surprisingly good quality.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

Yes I do, MAC Prep and Prime.

For the face?

No I don’t use a face primer, though I am looking for one that I would like to start using.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

My favourite eyeshadow is MAC Satin Taupe because you can wear it just on the lids as a natural colour for daytime but in the evening for a smokey look I would add MAC Brun to the outer corner and into the crease.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

I use both but I prefer gel liner (MAC Blacktrack fluidline)

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Not often at all, it will only happen if I am rushing which again isn’t often because I always factor in make up into my schedule when getting ready in the morning/evening.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

I love them although they can get everywhere if you’re not careful.

Do you use mineral makeup?

Yes.

What is your favorite lipstick?

My favourite lipstick is Hot Tahiti by MAC.

How about lipgloss?

MAC Dazzleglass in Love Alert.

What is your favorite blush to use?

Ambering Rose by MAC.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?

No. Never. I would never trust it. I mean what if it gets tampered with and you have a bad reaction on your skin.

Do you like drugstore makeup?

Yes I love it, my fave brand is Sleek.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)

No I have never been to one, I’m not even sure where there is one lol but I would love to go to one.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

I have taken a make up course before in fashion and photography make up and now I’m doing a course at a college/university to become a specialist make up artist to work on film and TV sets.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

I used to be but I have been wearing make up for a number of years now, so I think I have the technique of application down lol.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?

When girls where foundation 2-3 shades lighter or darker than their natural skin tone and don’t blend it down their neck. They look like they are wearing a mask errrrgh! I hate that.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

I love both. Depending on the mood I’m in or how much time I have in the morning I will alternate the kind of colours I wear on my eyes. But I tend to wear neutral colors during the day and brighter more dramatic eyes at night if I’m going out or something. And my lips are pretty neutral most of the time.

Which celebrity always has great make up?

I love Kim Kardashians make up. She always looks stunning.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item what would you use?

I would use lipgloss. Gotta make those lips stand out lol.

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Of course, there are tons of times I leave the house without make up on. Especially cos of college I have to go in twice a week without make up on. It’s not a big deal. Sometimes my skin likes to breathe. :D

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

Yeah I think I look alright without make up on, obviously I can’t hide my flaws but I don’t really care :)

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

MAC. I love them because they cater to darker skin tones.

What do you think of Makeup?

I absolutely LOVE make up. I know it sounds typical but I think make up is an art form a way to express moods and creativity. I’m not sure where my life would be right now if I hadn’t discovered that I wanted to be a make up artist, make up is my passion.

I tag you ALL! :)
