Holiday Tag: 2nd Edition

The questions!

1) Which holiday do you celebrate?

I celebrate Christmas :D

2) What are you doing for the holidays this year?

Chilling at home with the fam :D

3) What's your favorite holiday drink?

I don't really have one, but Hot chocolate is always out at this time of year...something like this...

4) Candy cane or Gingerbread men?

I would have to say Candy Cane because I hate ginger in all forms, it makes me gag, its so overly pungent I cant stand it :(

5) What's your favorite holiday/Christmas song?

My favourite would have to be Good King Wenceslas or Away in a manger.

6) What's the weirdest gift you've ever received?

Erm... an onion, it was a gag gift. The label read : This will bring you tears of joy.

7) Have you ever made a snowman?

No :( I would love to one day though :)

8) What is your favorite winter fragrance?

I don't have a winter fragrance I just wear whats on my dresser :)

9) What is at the top of your list this Christmas? (or whichever holiday you celebrate!)

At the top of my list was the Desperate Housewives series so far, but alas I did not get, but got a lot of other DVDs I wanted, so I wasn't disappointed.

10) What is most important to you about the holidays?

Spending time with my family and watching movies together :D

Holiday Traditions Tag!

1. Favorite holiday destination?

My favourite holiday destination would be Jamaica :) I spent 2 Christmases there and it was amazing, obviously living in England I wasn't so used to to having a hot Christmas the first time round. It was one of the best Christmases I've had, making the rounds to my dad's relatives :) not knowing that it would be rude not eating a bit of food per house visited, I never felt so full and sick at the same time haha.

2. Any family traditions?

We don't really have traditions in my house because my parents don't celebrate Christmas :( but me and my sisters make sure we put up the tree and decorations :) I've always said one day my kids and husband will hate me because I'm going to make my home into my own personal Winter Wonderland lol, with all the trimmings :)

3. Favorite ornament of decoration?

When I was in primary school, probably year 4 we made these Christmas biscuit ornaments out of pastry/dough that we cooked in the oven and then painted. I always wanted to eat them but obviously didn't because it was like this salty dough with this special ingredient to stop them going loudly and also the fact that they had paint on them hahaha. I had a Christmas tree, Santa, and some other randoms that I cant remember (I think one of them may have actually been an egg hahaha). They were my favourite ornaments, cos of the personal touch. I don't have them anymore because they all broke, being pastry/biscuits things and all they were very fragile :(

4. What are you doing for the holidays?

Erm noting much, just the usual seeing friends, hanging out with the family, eating myself into a stupor hahah watching loads of movies, waking up whenever I like and consuming my weight in junk food hahaha.

5. Are you a late or early Christmas shopper?

I am a very early shopper :)

6. Who usually cooks holiday dinners?

My mum and older sister cook, while I do menial chores and sit in front of the TV. But the one thing that I do every year that I see is my contribution is set the Christmas dinner table. I take this very seriously lol I mean I can take upto 30-40 mins to set the table for 5 people. And it has to be done exactly the way I want it and if someone touches it and messes it up I get well annoyed haha.

7. Have you ever gone Christmas caroling?

No, but we have had them come to the house once, that's not really a big thing where I live.

8. Do you live where it snows?

Unfortunately yes :( don't get me wrong I love the snow, when I am in the comfort of my own home, not when I'm having to travel places, risking my life in the ice and snow. And for the last 2 years the snow has come quite badly and extreme and has really affected day to day life. But thankfully its all gone now :D

9. One thing that makes you happiest at Christmas?

Being with my family, that is the main thing I look forward to at Christmas, then all the food ahaha :D

10. What do you want most for Christmas?

I wanted Desperate Housewives the complete collection so far , but I didn't get it but I did get tonnes and tonnes of DVDs so I was a very happy girl :D

Sorry :( I ♡ you all

Hi guys

I am so so so so so so so so so SORRY!!!!!!!!!! I have been MIA from my blog for nearly 3 weeks. Don't hate me but with Christmas, personal stuff going on in my life and the mountain of school work I have had I haven't been able to do a blog post, and I have like 5 things that need to go up, and I would like them up before the end of the year but as that is like tomorrow haha I don't see it happening. But I promise as soon as my assignment is out of the way which should be by next week I will be back to blogging and rambling hehe :) I m hoping to put up a Christmas tag (although its past its still only a few days after Christmas so I think its allowed haha) and a New Years tag :) thought I would put up something quick before the year runs out.

I also wanted to say to the small number of you subscribed to my little blog, thank you to all of you for your support and bearing with me when I end up slacking a bit on here :) I appreciate you all very much :) and want to say a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :D xxxx

INGLOT Haul and Review

Hi guys,

Again I am so so sorry for not posting any make up blogs, been very busy with college work.

So finally, as you can tell from the title I am now going to do my review of the Inglot stuff I bought like 2 months ago haha.

So on the 18th November me and some of the girls went to the Inglot store in Westfields in Shepherd's Bush. They were holding a student discount day specifically for my college, we were getting 20% off.

So when me and my friend got to the store it had been closed off to the public and only us students were allowed in, and they welcomed us at the door and had drinks laid out, I felt very VIP haha, especially when people walked by and were looking like "Oh whats going in there?".

All the palettes I got were from the freedom system. That consists of types of different palettes, you can see the palettes I'm talking about here. I got the 10 , 5 and 4 space palette.

So when you start choosing your make up you get this magnetic board, you then take and go round and the freedom system collection of make up which consists of eyeshadow, contour powder, bronzer, concealer, foundation and lipstick. When you see an item you want you pick it up and stick them on the palette. Once you've sorted through all the makeup...which was quite daunting because there was so much make up, the store assistants will sort your stuff into your palettes and put them together for you. They are so nice and helpful in there and very accommodating and they offer so much information.

As I walked in there I was like a kid in a candy store, I was really giddy walking around the shop haha. I love Inglot the brand is absolutely amazing. I think they may take the place of MAC as my favourite high end brand.

Eyeshadow palette - £35

Top left to right: #379, 418, 491, 60,30
Bottom left to right: #70, 415, 50, 55, 10

Swatches
These eye shadows are sublime, they are so pigmented and they blend so well. They are definitely worth the money paid for them. I basically paid £3.50 per eyeshadow, I think that's pretty bloody brilliant, for such high quality products. :o)

Lipstick - £15

Left to right: #34, 58, 03, 02, 89

Swatches

Just like they eye shadows, these lipsticks are very pigmented and I find quite nourishing on the lips. I have found with some lipsticks they can be quite drying on the lips, but I haven't had this problem with these. And they last a long time too. :o)

Blush - £26

Left to right: #40, 38, 27, 29

Swatches - the blushes back to front: #29, 27, 38, 40
Matte Black gel eyeliner - £8

I don't know who designed this eyeliner but oh my word, this stuff does not budge, it is the best gel eyeliner I have used in a long time, I'd say its even better than the Bobbi Brown and MAC gel liners. Normal eye make up remover wont do the trick when it comes to removing this unless it is oil based, otherwise you will be scrubbing at your eyes FOREVER probably until they are a bit sore. I found the best product to remove it with is Johnson's baby oil.

#77

Soft precision pencil eyeliner - £6
This is your standard kohl eye pencil, its very good and glides on nicely. Its really good for creating a 1920s smoky eye look, or just lining the eyes.

#20
Fluffy blending brush - £13

Great quality brushes, for a really good price and its so soft. Great for blending (obviously lol) and placing colour all over the lid.

#6SS

Under eye brush - £8

Again good quality brush for a decent price and very soft. This brush is for getting right underneath the eye especially when trying to apply shadow to under the lower lash line.

#13P

And last but by no means last...

DUO adhesive - £7

An old reliable when it comes to applying lashes, strip or individual.

I have only two complaints Inglot and its not even about the products its about the brand. Inglot products don't have names, they just have letters and numbers, which kinda sucks. I hate that, I like the names brands come of with for their items. Another thing is that you cant order online, and that's a bit of a pain in the butt because I have to travel like an hour and a half to get to Inglot :(

All of these products cost me £94.90 half of my budget, so my mum and credit card were very happy that day lol.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post :0) sorry for all the rambling haha

Superdrug mini haul and nails of the day

So I went shopping on Tuesday and Superdrug are having a 3 for 2 mix and match deal going on, so I took advantage of that and picked up 3 items in the store. I got the NEW LIMITED EDITION Sparkle palette, Barry M Instant nail effect and a Sleek blusher in #935 Flushed. After popping into Superdrug I went into boots and picked up a Sally Hansen nail polish.

Continue below for some pics of the stuff I bought.

Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base Coat
Cost - £4.49

Without flash

With flash

Top row - Cranberry, Dream Maker, Galactic, Twinkle, Star Light, Noir
Bottom row - Illusion, Festive, Mistletoe, Glitz & Glamour, Gold Ribbon, Tinsel
With flash

Without flash

Sleek Limited Edition Sparkle palette - When I opened this palette I could not believe how sparkly the shadows were. I love the packaging it comes in, so christmasy :) I very much love the fact that the Limited edition shadows are getting names now (I hope they keep it up), I really disliked the fact that they never had them before, I like to be able to refer to a shadow with its name and not just a number or no name at all.

The shimmer in the shadows goes all the way through and not just on top. I think this is now my favourite palette out of all my sleek make up.
Cost - £5.99

This has made my hand look extra large, like its swollen or something :-S

Sleek Blush - #935 Flushed - A gorgeous deep rose colour, I love it. It blends so well into the skin. Definitely a good purchase :)
Cost - £3.99

Barry M Instant Nail Effects - always use a base coat, do not try and put this straight onto the nail (my sister learnt that the hard way hahah). I actually am not in love with this product, from pictures I had seen I thought that I would fall in love, but I found that when using it on non Barry M nail paints it didn't come out very well. Maybe I didn't wait long enough before applying the BMINE* over my other nail polish but I will try again and then update you guys :)
Cost - £2.99 (got this one free on the deal.)

Nails of the day:

On my nails -
  • Sally Hansen Double duty base and top coat
  • Barry M Ice cream range nail paints and Mint green nail paint (see reveiw here)
  • Barry M Instant nail effects

So after painting my nails for the Barry M nail paint review I thought why not keep my nails like this so, I re-did it and then did the rest of my nails, using the BMINE nail paint. I liked how it came out over the BMNP** but as I said above it didn't work so great on non BMNP.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post :)

No not in the last 5 days. BUT… last week I went to see Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 1, which I loved. Poor Dobby :( I’m not really a cinema “go-er”, I’m more of a wait till it comes on DVD, unless it is something I cant wait to see, i.e. Harry Potter or the Twilight saga.

SNOW GLORIOUS SNOW!!!!!!

OK so it has been snowing like no ones business here and has been absolutely freezing and the last two days it has gotten really heavy where I live. So yesterday 1.12.10 (Wednesday) I had to venture out in the snow to go to college, it wasn't too bad and on the plus side I didn't fall down and the trains weren't buggered :) This was fresh snow, untouched and un-steppped on, it looks yellow because the time I leave it is still dark so the streets lights reacted badly with the flash on my camera phone.

And then today it was even worse, when I woke up I couldn't believe how much snow had fallen overnight. So these are the pics from today, 2.12.10. The weather today has completely ruined the trains and other public transport, so many train lines have been suspended and we had to leave college early. So luckily every Thursday I stay at my friend Zeke's house, so I didn't have to struggle back on the delayed trains for the 2 and a half hours it takes me to get home. Let me quickly explain why it takes so long, and no its not because of the delays lol, I live in East London and my college is in South West ;) London, I know so far. But its the sacrifice I make to get my qualification to get into university. So enough waffling, i just thought I would share with you whats been going on with the weather in freezing cold London.

The snow was gorgeous and so fun to walk in haha!

Thanks guys :)

Barry M Ice Cream Nail paint review

Firstly let me apologise for the state of my nails, they all just recently broke, and then due to stress I started biting them. But I have just started using this Sally Hansen nail strengthener, so I am hoping to start seeing some results soon :) Anyways onto the review

So I brought these nail paints a while ago, I got them because I saw that my friend Stevie had them and I like instantly fell in love haha, I'm not usually a fan of pastel colours, but I really liked them and at the time I had heard that they were Limited Edition and I couldn't find them anywhere for a while, but I was out shopping in Camden and saw them in Superdrug and was like "oh their back" lol, but typical when I see something I want I'm broke so I couldn't get them. So on a random shopping day I was like what happens if I just pop in to my local Superdrug and see if they had the paints in...and they did :) The polishes I got were #308 Berry Ice Cream, #306 Blueberry Ice Cream, #309 Strawberry Ice Cream, #307 Lemon Ice Cream and the last one was not one of the Ice Cream range but because it was a pastel colour and I thought it would fit the collection I got #304 Mint Green.

I also have to apologise for how messy my nails are and if you see any peeling skin (sorry if that's kinda gross lol) its cos my hands get really dry in the winter (no matter how much I moisturize them).

Mint Green

Berry

Blueberry

Lemon

Strawberry

Each of these colours were applied with two coats except for Blueberry Ice Cream, that one is really opaque after one coat. I really like these paints and when I wear them I do the kid thing and paint each nail a different colour so my hand looks likes sweets lol. This is definitely something you should purchase. Love them.
